The names prior to 1980 are taken from the inscriptions on the cups, the 1st XI trophies were presented in 1948, the catching and fielding trophies in 1977. The 2nd XI were formed in 1982 so this is a complete record as we have all scorebooks back to 1977. If anyone can shed any light on the whereabouts of any earlier scorebooks or trophy winners we would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact us at info@holyportcc.org.uk.

The batting and bowling trophies are presented to the playing member with the best average, subject to a qualification of a number of innings or wickets. The catching cup goes to the player with the most catches (wicketkeeper’s count half) and the fielding cup to the player with the most votes subject to a minimum number of games. Previously these votes were cast by all playing members at the end of the season, since 1998 they have been cast by the players in each game as this was considered a fairer reflection of a performance over the entire season, atlhough it is now unofficially known as the ‘Champagne moment’ cup as the votes tend to go to the best dismissal of the day!
